:: WHAT HAPPENS? ::

Bob is using the conference room as a bed-sit. He's overslept, Alison and Darrent thought it would be more fun to leave him than wake him. Instead of the usual buns, Colin has bought macaroons in the shape of barns owls for everyone. 5p going towards the Hounslow Barn Owl Trust for every macaroon! He tells Bob that Sarah served him in the shop and that she's leaving to go and stay with friends in Wales for a few months. Bob vows that today will be the day he tells Sarah he loves her.

Stella is on the phone to her mother, Colin sneaks in to leave her macaroon on the desk, but before he can sneak back out, he overhears Stella saying that she's been offered another job - a partnership with Sharkey McBain. Colin tries to hide under the desk and eventually sits in Stella's chair with his hands over his eyes - which is where Stella finds him. She makes Colin promise not to tell anyone that she's leaving, especially not Dick. The last time she tried to leave he got her drunk on sherry and made her ring the other firm and blow raspberries down the phone to the senior partners.

Sarah arrives with a cornflake and coleslaw bap for Bob. He tries to tell her how he feels but is too tongue-tied. He asks Colin what he should do, but he can't say. Alison tells him he needs to be more relaxed, women don't like men who quiver. He decides to record how he feels on a tape that he'll give to Sarah before she leaves. Dick calls Colin into his office, he wants to know what's happening with Stella. Colin tries not to tell him but he ends up giving the game away. Dick points out that it's Stella who does all the work so if she were to leave it would be a disaster. He goes to visit Stella and says he knows she's been offered a partnership elsewhere. She's writing a list of reasons to go and reasons to stay, the 'go' list is 3 pages long. Dick says he accepts her decision and he isn't going to try and stop her, but back in his office he's on the phone to Roger Sharkey blackmailing him into taking back his offer to Stella.

Bob is still recording his tapes for Sarah -there's a table full of them!. He parcels them up and asks Darren to take them to Sarah with instructions for her to listen to them before she leaves and he'll wait in the office if she wants to see him. Darren is more concerned about getting his soup for lunch, in the kitchen he leaves the tapes next to the cooker where they catch fire!

Colin sees Stella and apologises for the 6th time. She tells him it's ok and that she's made up her mind to leave. He thinks he's ready to step into the breach. Alison is filing and finds Bob's wombles washbag in the cabinet. He explains it was a gift from his wife. She had all the money and the friends in their relationship. Alison says she wouldnt let her marriage crumble like that and that she always makes sure she has something incriminating on her boyfriends so that they toe the line. Darren lies to Bob about the tapes, he tells him that Sarah promised to phone him before she leaves. Stella has an announcement to make, but before she can say anything the phone rings. Alison thinks it sounds like Paul Daniels, the man who does the magic, but it's Roger Sharkey telling Stella they've changed their mind about the partnership. In order to save face, Stella makes her announcement that cardigans can no longer be worn in the office and storms away.

It's 10.45 and Bob is still waiting for Sarah to call. Finally, he gives up and goes to his make-shift bedroom in the conference room. Stella rrives to join him and they commiserate with each other about their day. He's glad that she's not going, she's needed there. He lists his own catalogue of disasters but says with a wry smile: "Still, musn't grumble."
